Dr. Douglas Martin - Background
Dr. Douglas Martin graduated from the University of California in 1973, and served as an assistant clinical professor in the university's Prosthetics Department in the late 1970s. As a board certified implant dentist, he is committed to helping patients with missing teeth and patients with minor to very severe damage to the teeth and jaw.
Dr. Martin’s interest in implant dentistry began in 1974. From 1975 to 1983, Dr. Martin completed more than 600 implants at his private practice in Stockton. With this base of knowledge and experience, he decided to focus on implants, and began associations and training with the Misch Implant Institute, Loma Linda with implant dentist Dr. Bob James, the Tatum Institute, the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, the International College of Implantology, the Pacific Implant Center, and UC San Francisco Implant Maxi courses. Dr. Martin has completed more than 1,600 hours of continuing education in implantology. Since 1984, he has devoted himself to learning more about dental implant systems, and he has studied every type of technology available to the advanced implant dentist. He has been trained and tested in all of the implant systems described on this site, with the exception of the seldom-used transosteal implant system. At his practice in Stockton, near Sacramento, implant dentist Douglas Martin, D.D.S. is always available to solve the complex problems of patients with missing teeth, regardless of the deterioration of their jaws.
Dr. Douglas Martin is interested in all facets of implant dentistry, as well as sedation dentistry. Dr. Martin is currently an examiner for the California State Board of Dental Examiners Conscious Sedation section. He has been married to his wife Wanda for 40 years. They have six children, including Dr. Dax Martin, and two daughters, Kim and Vicki - who also work on the team to provide superior services in implantology.
Implant dentist Douglas Martin, D.D.S. is a Fellow of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, a Diplomat of the American Board of Oral Implantology / Implant Dentistry, and a Fellow of the International College of Implantology. Dr. Martin has taught implant dentistry since the mid-eighties, working closely with Dr. Larry Lum, the University of California Maxi courses, as well as several post-graduate courses and study clubs. He conducts ongoing research in subperiosteal implants in conjunction with the University of Alabama's Department of Biomaterials. He has worked on the design of a number of dental implant systems, and is currently a partner in Quantum Implant Systems.

Dr. Dax Martin - Background
Dr. Dax Martin attended San Joaquin Delta college, the University of California at Davis and the University of California at San Francisco School of Dentistry for his undergraduate work. He received a Bachelor of Science in Dental Science from the University of California at San Francisco School of Dentistry. He graduated from the University of California at San Francisco School of Dentistry in 2002 a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS).
Dr. Dax has been a member of the team since 2003. He is interested in all aspects of general dentistry and restoring Dental implants. Dr. Dax is a partner of Martin Dentistry with his father, Dr. Douglas Martin. He is active in the community as a member of the SJ Dental Society (SJDS), the California Dental Association (CDA), and the American Dental Association (ADA).
Dr. Dax is a huge fan of the Stockton Thunder hockey team. You can see him at their home games with his parents, wife and best friend. Dr. Dax is an Eagle Scout along with several of his friends and all of his brothers. Dr. Dax recently married Sena, who is another member of our team. Dr. Dax has three brothers and two sisters. He also shares a special place in his heart for his two cats.
Dr. Martin’s Staff
Donna has been with our team since 1995. She is in charge of working with your benefit provider. She has been doing this for more than 20 years. If you have any concerns about your benefits, ask for her.
Stasia is the person you will be talking with most of the time when you call our office. She has been on the team since 1982. Stasia will always find a way to get you in to see Dr. Martin within a few days. She is also available to help you understand your benefits package.
Melody is one of the people who will call to see how you are doing, and she will also help schedule your treatment. She is great at making patients feel welcome and comfortable. Melody is the person to call with any questions you may have. She will move mountains to help you in any way she can.
Wanda is the chief executive officer of our practice. You may see her around the office when you come in -- if you need to see the boss, she’s the one! Dr. Martin has worked for Wanda for 40 years. Wanda has been in dentistry for most of those forty years and played a significant role in Dr. Martin's decision to become a dentist. She got her Ph.T. in 1973, the same year Dr. Martin graduated from the University of California, San Francisco.
Karla is our head dental nurse. Her diverse responsibilities include ensuring that all equipment works and all purchases arrive on time. She has the highest level of license for a dental assistant in California. If she does it, it’s done right. Karla maintains a tight ship in sterility and makes sure every patient is comfortable. Karla makes sure our patients enjoy their visit to our office. You will see her most of the time with Dr. Dax.
Diane is one of Dr. Martin's surgical nurses. She is very concerned for your well being here at our practice. Diane has been in dentistry as an dental assistant for over 20 plus years. Diane, who is a mother of two, loves to help patients and loves dental assisting.
Kimberly Martin is one of Dr. Martin's dental assistants. She has been a member of the Martin family since she was 10 months old. Kim Joined the dental team when she was 13 years old and has been working part time or full time since. Kim will quietly make sure every thing is going right, She has 9 years of experience with surgery and placement of implant systems.
