One of the most well-known and trusted dentists in California, Dr. Douglas Martin has practiced dentistry in Stockton since 1975. With the ability to handle the simplest to most complex dental needs, our lead implant dentist specializes in smile design services to patients throughout the Sacramento, Modesto, and Stockton area.
Since 1984, implant dentist Douglas Martin, DDS has focused on implant dentistry and used these techniques to fix complex dental problems for the local blue collar community. With over 25 dental implant systems available, Dr. Doug is able to provide implants for various restorative dental needs and for almost any budget.
Education
Dr. Douglas Martin graduated from the University of California in 1973, and served as an assistant clinical professor in the university's Prosthetics Department in the late 1970s.
From 1975 to 1983, Dr. Doug placed more than 600 dental implants at his Stockton dental practice. With this base of knowledge and experience, he decided to focus on implants, and began associations and training with:

To become and remain a leading implant dentist, Dr. Douglas Martin has completed more than 1,600 hours of continuing education in implantology. For about 30 years, Dr. Doug has devoted himself to learning more about dental implant systems, and he has studied every type of technology available to the advanced implant dentist. He has been trained and tested in all of the implant systems described on this site, with the exception of the seldom-used transosteal implant system.

Dr. Doug has taught implant dentistry since the mid-eighties, working closely with Dr. Larry Lum, the University of California Maxi courses, as well as several post-graduate courses and study clubs. He also conducts ongoing research in subperiosteal implants in conjunction with the University of Alabama's Department of Biomaterials. Dr. Doug has also worked on the design of a number of dental implant systems, and is currently a partner in Quantum Implant Systems.
Not only is Dr. Doug involved in all facets of implant dentistry, but he also has an interest in sedation dentistry. He is currently an examiner for the California State Board of Dental Examiners Conscious Sedation section. Dr. Doug has also taken and taught numerous dental hypnosis courses from the 1970s through the 1990s.
A Personal Glimpse
Dr. Doug has been married to his wife Wanda for over 40 years. They have six children, including Dr. Dax Martin, and two daughters, Kim and Vicki - who also work on his dental team to provide superior services in implantology.

Implant and general dentist Dax Martin, DDS has been a member of our Stockton dental team since 2003. He is interested in all aspects of general dentistry and restoring dental implants. Dr. Dax is a partner of Martin Dentistry.
Education
Dr. Dax Martin attended San Joaquin Delta College, the University of California at Davis, and the University of California at San Francisco School of Dentistry for his undergraduate work. He received a Bachelor of Science in Dental Science from the University of California at San Francisco School of Dentistry. He graduated from the University of California at San Francisco School of Dentistry in 2002 a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS).

- Is a graduate of the Misch Implant Institute in advanced implantology
- Completed the programs in sinus grafting, tatum frames and D series implants at The Tatum Institute

A Personal Glimpse
Dr. Dax is a huge fan of the Stockton Thunder hockey team. You can see him at their home games with his parents, wife, daughter and best friend. Dr. Dax is an Eagle Scout along with several of his friends and all of his brothers. Dr. Dax has three brothers and two sisters.
Dr. Dax is married to Sena, who is another member of our team. They have a beautiful daughter, Maili who charms the hearts of everyone she meets. He also shares a special place in his heart for his two cats.

Stasia
Stasia is the person you will be talking with most of the time when you call the Stockton office. She has worked in the dental field for 28 years and counting. She enjoys putting patients that are fearful of dental treatment at ease when they call.
If you have any concerns about your benefits, you can be assured she will have an answer for you. She loves spending time with her family and friends and her dog 'Mikki'. Her interest include fine wines, food, movies and week-end trips to fun places.
Melody
Melody is one of the people who will call to see how you are doing, and she will also help schedule your dental treatment at Martin Dentistry. She has been in dentistry off and on for over 40 years!!
Wanda
Wanda is the chief executive officer of our practice. You may see her around the office when you come in -- if you need to see the boss, she's the one! Dr. Martin has worked for Wanda for 40 years. Wanda has been in the dentistry field for most of those forty years and played a significant role in Dr. Martin's decision to become a dentist. She got her Ph.T. in 1973, the same year Dr. Martin graduated from the University of California, San Francisco.
Karla
Karla is our head dental nurse. She has the highest level of license for a dental assistant in California (Registered Dental Assistant Extra Functions). If she does it, it's done right.
Diane
Diane is one of Dr. Doug Martin's surgical nurses. She is very concerned for your well being here at our practice. Diane has been in dentistry as a dental assistant for over 20 plus years.
Mary Jane
Mary Jane is our registered dental hygienist and has been practicing for 40 years. She enjoys establishing long-term relationships with patients and watching the immediate changes as well as the life long results of quality dentistry. The constant changes and improvements in dental technology keep her excited about the field. The Martins and the rest of the Staff have become like a family. Her love is family, cats and nature.
Donna
Donna has been with our team for 15 years now and has been in the dental field for over 30 years. She enjoys getting to know the patients personally and helping them with their financial needs.
Her greatest joy is the positive feedback she hears when the once fearful patient, leaves the office with a big smile. She loves the light hearted fun the whole staff and patients can have during the day. Stasia will always find a way to get you in to see either Dr. Doug or Dr. Dax within a few days. Her hobbies include ice skating, walking her dog 'Sammy' and spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren.
She is great at making patients feel welcome and comfortable. Melody is the person to call with any questions you may have. She will move mountains to help you in any way she can. During her off time, she and her husband enjoy taking trips on their Harley.
Karla maintains a tight ship in sterility and makes sure every patient is comfortable and has a laugh or two while they are here. In her spare time she likes gardening, taking long walks with her dogs and spending time with family.
Evelyn
Evelyn has been in the dental field for 24 years. She is one of our registered dental assistants and enjoys educating patients about their health and helping them achieve beautiful healthy smiles.
Diane, who is a mother of two, loves to help patients and loves dental assisting. She is a huge fan of Mickey Mouse.
She says that "working at Martin Dentistry is actually fun because the other staff members have become such great friends". Her interests include reading, genealogy, lake fishing, family outings and taking the dogs swimming. She also enjoys antique shopping and collecting depression glassware.
